Happy 4^th of July

Fireworks.  Picnics.  Time together with family and friends.  Celebrations.  Rock concerts in the park.

All wonderful ways to celebrate the 4^th of July.

But the 4^th of July is all about Independence.  Liberty.  Freedom.  The fresh air of being able to do as you wish – without interference from others or from an oppressive government.

www.Dictionary.com defines independence as “freedom from the control, influence, support, aid, or the like, of others.”

Just reading the words makes me feel liberated. 

But, what about tomorrow?

Will you feel liberated as you travel back to your place of business?  Will you continue to feel liberated as you begin the work day and completing the reports that are due by the end of the week?

Will you continue to feel liberated when your employee that is supposed to show up at 6 a.m. calls at 5:45 to say they can’t make it to work today as they have had too much weekend?

If you don’t – you do not have your business structured properly.  Because your business is an object, not a being.  Your business is just like a computer or an automobile or a motorcycle.

In other words, just like these other machines work for you – your business needs to as well!

Is it?  Probably not.
